Way, way back in the early days of Coast Motor Werk (the year 2009), we started to think that Orange County BMW and MINI drivers outside of the Huntington Beach area could use a Dealership Alternative of their own.
We realized that the best place for a growing business like ours was the same place a lot of other businesses were growing nearby – the city of Irvine.
Now that we’ve been here for 5 years and counting, we thought we would take a moment to list 5 of the things we’ve come to love during our time in Anteater Country.
5 Things We Love About Serving Irvine
1) Our Customers
This might be stating the obvious – especially since we’ve stated it about our Huntington Beach and Rancho Santa Margarita shops too – but we couldn’t be happier with the clients that visit CMW Irvine each and every day. We’ve met lots of local BMW and MINI drivers since we opened our shop here in 2010, and it’s been a privilege to call many of them customers for life today. (And they seem to like us too – check out the reviews on our 5-star Yelp page!)
2) Family-Friendly Attractions
Southern California is one of the greatest places on Earth to own a BMW or MINI Cooper. Why? Because of all the interesting and fun destinations for your car (and your family) to visit on any given day.
Irvine has lots of family-friendly attractions. The biggest is the Great Park, a 1,300-plus acre space with movies and and a farmer’s market during the summer, ice skating during the winter, and a scenic hot air balloon ride year-round. On the other side of town, $2 gets you into the Orange County Zoo at Irvine Regional Park, where bears, bald eagles and a petting zoo await.
3) Outdoor Entertainment
If you want to take your Ultimate Driving Machine somewhere a bit flashier, there are plenty of local opportunities for that too. The Irvine Spectrum’s open air bazaar is a great place to spend an evening, and if you feel like a show, you can stop by the Irvine Improv comedy club for a few laughs. And if it’s music you’re into, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater (still known as Irvine Meadows to locals) is a short drive from the Spectrum.
People are moving to Irvine for a lot of reasons, and the city’s highly-ranked school system is tops among them. From quality elementary and high schools to Concordia University and UCI, Irvine is a place where kids can thrive.
Irvine is one of the fastest-growing areas in California, and for good reason. The people are friendly, the schools are great (see above), and the Southern California sun shines more often than not. And the best part is, there’s still enough open space nearby to to rev up your BMW when the mood strikes.
